Axios – Google and YouTube are launching Google Gifts on Apple TV, an app that lets users access the popular Apple TV service, while Google will provide an API for the service to developers.
The app, called Google Gifts, is similar to the Google Chrome Web Store gift cards, but it’s available on Apple’s own TV, rather than through Google Play.
Users will be able to create a gift card, store it in their Google account and use it to buy content.
Users can also sign up to receive gifts, as well as create their own, and then send it to friends or family members.
The app also allows users to add their own stickers, which can be used to decorate the inside of an Apple TV.
The gift cards are currently available on Google Play, but Google is also planning to bring Google Gifts to other platforms as well.
Google is partnering with the online retailer Amazon to bring the service, which is free, to Amazon Prime members.
“The Google gift card is a great way to keep a link to the original YouTube video on your home screen, and a great gift for friends and family,” said Google VP of Product Adam Perrin.
“We’ve been able to offer this gift card in the Google Play store for a while, but now we’re getting it on AppleTV.”
YouTube and Google also recently announced they would be partnering to bring YouTube to Apple TV devices.
YouTube will be launching an app for Apple TV this fall, but Apple hasn’t said when the app will launch.
